First off, the receiver is not recognized when plugged in, as a genuine microsoft device would be. As others have suggested, in device manager I right clicked on the unrecognized device and navigated to select the x-box 360 wireless controller for pc drivers. it still won't work. when I press the button on both the receiver and the connect "x" button on the controller, both blink a while, the receiver light goes solid, and the controller keeps displaying spinning lights until it eventually gives up. I think I will too.
