Push lightly while face-lathering and it is as soft as any silvertip I own, maybe softer. Push medium, pretty scritchy feeling. Push hard, this thing feels like it has fiberglass shards in and gets way too sharp feeling. At that point, scratchier and more abrasive than any of the 30+ shaving brushes I own. Definitely has a lot of backbone. However, the knot is a little too short. With more loft could definitely generate more lather. Seems to be on the weak side for generating lather compared to most of my brushes. Adequate, just not great.
