It might be better in the laundry area or hallway. It was difficult to install and did not come with the washers that it was supposed to which prevent the glass from being squeezed too tightly. My husband had black rubber washers that worked out fine. I personally wouldn't buy it again but since it's up and I think my husband would kill me if I asked him to change it again, I will leave it for now. It looks great in our kitchen and we are very happy with it!The only issue we had while installing is because the base was much smaller than our previous light (which was about 60 years old). The drywall under the original base was very damaged so we had to patch it and with the base being so small on this light, you can see our less than perfect patch job...
