Best to start in speed 1 first otherwise cutting fluid ends up everywhere.Pictur of whole bike shows tank before any work was done. (See how cloudy and dull the paint is?)Used this on my motorcycle tank which was cloudy like a old dusty attic mirror back to shiny reflection. Very impressed. Used with meguiers compound and polish. Did not remove the super deep scratches but definitely lowered the appearance and got rid of the millions of light "swirls" could probably get rid of the deeper ones with a more course compound.Had to buy separate pads because the ones that come with the machine are BASIC and I wouldn't trust them. Probably fine at a push but not if you want a professional finish.

Could not hold on to it properly as it vibrates so much

Have only just started using it. it is a little heavier than I expected making it tiring to use on vertical surfaces, but this may be my poor technique. It appears to be substantially made and works just as you would expect. Wide speed range. Not too noisy. Soft start is a good feature. Good Value.
