We bought the same one initially, but the straw seemed extremely difficult to suck from, as I even struggled. However, I gave this a 2nd chance and this newer version us excellent. My daughter loves using it, finds it so easy and took to it like a duck to water. She also drinks water far more freely than before. Sippy cup is leak proof and easy to open and close, lovely handles and has withstood a few falls on kitchen floor without breaking.

**Q: Does the straw have a valve that needs to be bitten to open?**
A: Hi,
The drinking bottle straws have a bite valve, which means you have to apply pressure using your mouth or teeth in order to release the liquid, this is by design.

**Q: The straw seems difficult to get water up and you seem to need to chew. Is this how it should be?**
A: From my experience in order to suck the drink from the cup the baby needs to press its lips around the straw, then it comes out easily. The benefit of this system is that the bottle never drips liquid (unless your baby presses the straw against a table holding the cup upside down!). It’s a great cup, I have a couple, but as the kid grows bigger a sippy cup is easier for them to drink from (and spill from!)

These are very much a repeat purchase for us. With our toddlers they are a great purchase and would definitely recommend. The weighted straw makes any angle work and the flip close lid means less mess. They also come with a cleaning brush which makes it possible to get inside the straw. These are great
