It is pictured fully extended/raised in all my photos. It looks comfortable, and feels like it would just take some breaking in, almost like a leather couch. Overall, it seems nice. It was super easy to assemble, though I suggest putting the wheels on as the last thing. I have a hardwood floor and it rolls very well. The gas lift (stem) is a little confusing to install, as you place it and turn it to lock it into place. There is also what appears to be a cover for the welding, to make it look nicer. Overall, seems sturdier and more comfortable than expected. Remember, these are just my first impressions.
