I bought this primarily to drive a 16 inch 200w 8ohm PA speaker which I use in village halls for film sound - not at 200 watts of course ! But this little amp with the power supply packaged with it will drive up to 160 watts (32v at 5 amp). That is pretty ear deafening with an efficient 8 ohm speaker (and it would be even louder if you have a 4 ohm speaker). It's great to have the Bass and Treble controls which I need to tune the film sound to the venue. I decided on the DoukAudio M1 Pro because of its reputed clear sound and high output in a very small hand-sized package - and because it also had BlueTooth - so I can play in tracks and audio clips from my phone and also have licenced music on a USB stick. Also there is no bump and bang on the speakers when you switch or change input selection and reputedly no spark or flash if you plug in the power jack when the power supply is switched on - I have not tried this since you should plug in the power jack before you switch on the power supply. The BlueTooth connects easily with my old Samsung phone. I have tested it at home, walking from room to room - I do get the occasional drop-out on a different floor where the signal has to pass through the length of a wall, but that is only to be expected - I would not normally operate through walls ! You can switch between BlueTooth and the USB output with a long press on the playback pause button, and the USB track will start playing automatically. Line input on the RCA sockets is selected from the main switch which also switches the unit off. (I have read before that the power to many of these small amps is not switched off with the switch and that the red power light stays on - but in this case it seems to work properly and the power light goes off). In terms of visual build quality and feel it can't be faulted. All metal housing nicely finished and with metal faced knobs with knurled grip. The knobs operate smoothly as they pass across micro indents on the pots with delicate inaudible 'clicks' which gives an air of quality and shows that some care has been taken with the design and feel of the unit. I hope the internals are as well put together. With a quoted Signal to noise ratio of 98db there is no annoying hiss from the speakers and the Bass and Treble controls can make a considerable difference to the sound to suit your music, preferences and room acoustics - although setting everything at 12 o'clock is generally fine. So far I'm very pleased with the product, price and facilities it offers. Might even get another one to install in the lounge ! NOTE : the power supply makes a big difference to the volume you get from any amp - you can't get more 'sound' power (watts) out than you put in from your power supply block. However, I do have an issue with the bluetooth. Basically the range, or lack of it. I find that my source needs to be very close to the amplifier with no obstructions in between. Even at a foot away if I'm holding my phone I find the sound breaks up. P1 is probably overkill (in terms of additional bluetooth, etc) if you already have an M1. If you have the M1, it might be better to go with a TUBE-T1. Mine came with 13 amp.** A: Hello Because of the nature of this unit (high output power), it needs a beefy power supply, one supplied is 32v/5a to give you the output it claims, so a 3amp fuse wouldn’t last the course, there is a formula to work out mains fuse values if you google around, Ideally 13a is a bit too high for this unit, I would and do use a 10amp fuse which makes me sleep soundly at night, and works fine. **Q: Can a mike and phone be used via the usb input?** A: No idea.
