A real problem solver, this modular system is capable of endless configurations when used with additional extensions, each sold separately. Two different sized (optional) extensions are available: VG 20BK C (20" wide) and the VG 40 BK C(40" wide). With added extensions, the versagate can span large areas. It can be used in a straight line configuration. It can navigate difficult spaces. It can even be made into a fully enclosed pen. The versagate features a 40" door section with a large 24" opening. Round, rubber coated feet increase stability and prevent scratching floors. The versagates width spans from 40" to 77.25", depending on the desired configuration. Wall mount hardware allow for easy, temporary takedown of gate without completely uninstalling hardware easy to reinstall. The versagate system (VG 65) includes a door panel (40" ) and two 20" extensions. This gate is wall mounted using hardware. Configuring the versagate as a fully enclosed pen requires additional extensions and is the only way this gate is freestanding. A second gate was sent promptly by Amazon, but also arrived with some damaged parts. I would say the quality is fair. We were able to exchange out damaged parts from the two shipments to make one working gate with one bent vertical bar that did not impair the functionality of the gate. So far it is working well in the area designed to keep our dogs contained. This gate DOES need to be wall mounted, as it does not work as a freestanding gate. In our case it was to center the gate at the bottom of a stairway that had an angled bottom step that protruded past the opening (so had to have a curved entrance). The gate is very sturdy if mounted to studs on the wall. I can't count the number of times this gate stopped potential close calls of our toddler wanting to climb the stairs up on his own.We bought a similar adjustable gate from them a well for the top of the stairs too. Also very well constructed.
