It might be that this one-size-fits-all doesn't fit my body: women's size L on top and moderately broad shoulders. I adjusted it as much as possible. I used it for short periods, trying to build up. Every time, my upper back was feeling good until I put it on, and after a few minutes I could feel the muscle spasms start and my upper spine pull out of alignment.It worked for lots of people according to the reviews, so it was worth a try.For me, it's going back to Amazon. Glad for the easy returns, at least. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Totally worth it! *by L***3 on Reviewed in the United States on January 5, 2020* This brace is an excellent way to minimize low back pain. By correcting my posture, I get the support I want and need to stand straight with my shoulders back. In doing that, my head and neck are supported! It's a win win win! As I've gotten older, I notice the 'advancing age slouch' and it's unattractive. For me, being slouched makes me psychologically think of being older. Having the brace on, not only relieves most of my back pain, but also boosts my confidence! The insert is clear and concise. When and how to wear it is obviously written by someone with medical knowledge because the suggestion to limit wearing it for 1 hour the first 2-4 days makes sense; too much too soon may cause discomfort elsewhere, so it makes sense. It's kind of a training brace...after a few days of wearing it, once I take it off my body responds to the positioning because it's so much more comfortable! I've lived an active life and 'earned' my aches and pains, but in addition to the brace I also use medication/topical gels, but not as frequently as before I had the brace. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Performs as advertised *by E***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 24, 2020* I've had this posture brace about 10 days. It does everything it says it will do, and I'm very happy with it so far. In particular, I don't have the best posture, and this thing has really helped align my shoulders and neck properly. Just a couple of tips based on my experience: 1) Make sure that the circular "piece" on the back strap which fits between your shoulder blades is correctly centered between your shoulder blades. For small to medium-frame people, there's a tendency when tightening the front straps to cinch everything too high up on the shoulders. If this happens to you, don't be afraid to hook your thumbs under the shoulder straps and pull the whole thing lower down on your back. If the circular piece I mentioned is riding too high up on your back, it won't brace you properly. 2) Do follow the manufacturers directions about wearing it for only 1-2 hours when you first start using it. The key to getting the most benefit out of this thing is not how many hours a day you wear it, it's wearing it consistently on a daily basis for a reasonable length of time. As time goes on, you can certainly wear it longer, but don't fall into the "If one hour is good, five hours will be even better" kind of mindset, or you're gonna be hurting. Be patient, and after a few days you will notice a real improvement in your posture when you're not wearing it. Also, as the directions advise, don't wear it when sleeping, driving, or any time you need to move freely about.
