These are nice chairs for the money. The seat cushion is attractive and comfortable. The seatbacks are supportive. The wood is stained in a dark color. Personally we wish they were available in a lighter color.Assembly is not too difficult. You use an allen wrench (supplied) to bolt the seat cushion into the legs. You can do it with the allen wrench but it's a bit tedious, I wish they had used bolts with hex or screw heads which would have been easier to turn. I used a (manual) driver with the right size allen key which made the job easier and quicker (I bought 6 chairs). You can use an electric driver but then you have to be careful of overtightening the bolts and splitting the wood. Right now newly assembled they seem sturdy enough. I will have to wait and see if the bolts need retightening after some use. This is a common problem with chairs of this type but not a deal breaker.It's a little difficult to level the chairs for final assembly. They tell you to place the chair legs on a level surface like a floor and finish tightening the bolts. This means you have to get on the floor and crawl under the chair to access the bolts. I found it easier to place the chair (which is new and clean) on a flat table, push the seat cushion down so the legs are level and then, sitting in a chair, tighten the bolts from underneath. Much easier doing this sitting than crawling under the chair.

My husband and I decided to purchase these chairs online, although we felt a little uneasy doing so. We had no idea if they would be as good looking as they were pictured on Amazon.com. We also were afraid they might get damaged during the shipping process. First, let me say that the chairs arrived quickly, sooner than expected. They were left on my front porch, but I was able to lift and carry them inside. I excitingly opened the first package (I ordered 3 pkgs.) and lifted the chair seat out. How beautiful! The material is like a thick textured brocade with a deep brown/burgundy and tan/cream color paisley pattern. So much prettier in person than in the photos online! The wood chair back is made of very heavy wood, sturdy, and the carved pattern is beautiful! After my husband and I assembled all six chairs, we tried them out. The chair back is very supportive, especially to our lower backs. The seat cushion is firm, yet supportive and surprisingly comfortable. We set up all of the chairs around our oval, heavy, walnut wood table from the 60's (timeless) and we were so pleased! Our table does not look dated in the least, and the chairs are darker in wood color than the table, yet they still complement each other very well. We were fortunate enough to have the chairs ship ahead of schedule so that we used them for our Thanksgiving with our family. Everyone was impressed with the beauty of these chairs. They have such a Classic, Traditional look, but they would even go with modern, Contemporary style furniture. We are so very happy with these chairs! This is the best online purchase we ever made...oh, and I forgot to mention that although one of the shipped boxes was damaged on one end, the chairs inside were not damaged at all. They are packed very well. So happy with this whole process! The chairs were well worth the bargain price that we paid online and I'm sure they are actually worth a whole lot more being that they are Ashley chairs.

I bought two sets, for a total of four chairs. They look as expected. They were very easy to assemble by myself. The wood is substantial and feels sturdy enough, the chair cushions are pretty hard though. Maybe they will soften up with use? Or maybe I have an unusually sensitive backside.I took one star off because - although one of the sets of two chairs was perfect - one set had uneven legs, causing them to rock. It was at least half an inch difference. I went to the hardware store and bought floor “protectors” and added several to the short legs, and this pretty much took care of it.I will be keeping the Allen wrench handy, I am not confident that the bolts holding these chairs together won’t work loose over time. I have no foreknowledge of this happening, but I do have knowledge of diy furniture and that seems to be a common issue.Overall I’m happy with my purchase.

I ordered 8 of these chairs of our dining room. They came in four well packaged boxes. The directions and assembly couldn't have been any easier. The three sets of bolts needed already had the required hardware on each bolt and they were held together in groups with small rubber bands. Two shortest bolts connect the seat to the back piece (that included a pin in the seat to align holes), Four long bolts (two for each back leg) and four medium bolts (two each for the front legs). The only issue with the chairs is the very strong odor that gave my wife a headache. I put the chairs in our sunroom and closed the door. I am sure the smell will go away in a few days because other reviewers have noted the same issue. The chairs are comfortable despite the firmness of the seat. They are nice and heavy and I think they will last a long time. My wife and I are very please with the choice we made.

I was in a pinch, as I had 6 chairs around my table but was to have 8 guests. These two were the PERFECT accompaniment to my existing set. Easy to assemble, comfortable for my guests, and sturdy to last past one dinner. These are in my repertoire to stay - great item, great price, solid purchase. Thank you! I will likely replace the 6 original chairs with these, as they're very comfortable, sturdy, and beautiful.

These chairs were very easy to assemble - I think I assembled all 4 in about an hour, if that. The seat cushions are very firm. The wood is very sturdy. The seats themselves are not very wide, so if you have a very large table, they look funny (oversight on my part). There is also a strong chemical smell. I'm not sure if it is the fabric or the wood treatment but it is strong when you open the box. It has dissipated after a few days, but be prepared. I just needed more chairs at a low cost, these did the trick - inexpensive but not cheap looking.

LOVE these chairs. Price point for these is incredible. I ordered 1 set to see if I liked them. I don't....I love them... beautiful, strong, easy to put together and arrived in immaculate condition. Ordering another set.. WOW!

I really like the chairs, they matche the description and are easy to assemble, very sturdy and solid. Delivery was timely..however some of the upholstery is pulled out on the edges.
