It will be good for podcasting, gaming, conferencing, Skype, etc. It will not make for a good recording microphone for something like singing and guitar, as the pickup range is very narrow. If you're looking for a good, inexpensive option to get started with streaming, or podcasting or something of the sort, and you're not interesting in making things overly complicated, this could be a great choice. While lacking a few features that would really send it over the top, it's basic functionality, along with the included bonuses such as the windscreen and pop filter, should be enough to satisfy most people. It is a USB microphone, so don't expect it to stand up to a Shure SM7B or anything.The microphone itself is extremely light, probably about half the weight of my Fifine K669B. The audio is coming in loud and clear, without any noticable hiss or background interference. The included windscreen and pop filter make for a very professional appearance, over all I'm very happy with the look and feel. I used the mic for my normal couple days of gaming and chatting with my friends and had no issues. As I mentioned before, I would definitely recommend this too someone looking for a solid budget microphone at a competitive price, the inclusion of the windscreen and pop filter alone add almost $25 in value. For under $50, you generally get what you pay for with electronics, especially when you're looking for an all-in-one solution like this microphone. I figured it comes with a stand and filters for under $50, so it's probably going to be "meh".Boy, was I wrong! Since this is a plug and play peripheral, installation on Windows was nearly non-existent--you plug it in and it's ready to go after ~10 seconds.After that, fire up your favorite DAW and get to work. The audio was very crisp and clear, even given a variety of distances from the microphone. There is a hint of background noise, but this is pretty much always the case with sensitive microphones, and be rectified in post.A couple of things to note: this mic is USB powered, which is also how it carries the audio, so you cannot use your own cables as there are no external connectors. This is just fine for my purposes (and probably most other peoples'). The stand is pretty nifty--it uses elastic bands for retention so it's pretty easy to slide the mic in and out for quick access. It might buy you a couple of seconds if you turn the whole assembly upside down, but I wouldn't count on it staying in there under duress (but that shouldn't be a problem in 99.9% of most recording situations).Other than that, I can't recommend this highly enough for the price point. I plan to use it for recording video voiceovers and potentially for streaming video games, and I know it's going to serve me very well! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Decent quality and price *by A***W on Reviewed in the United States on January 7, 2020* Likes:- Audio quality is pretty good overall, though you'll have to dial in the right microphone gain on your computer.- The cardioid pickup pattern is accurate, and does a very good job mitigating room noise and reflected sound.- Basically "studio quality" audio when compared to a built-in omni mic.- The pop filter is excellent, and really improves audio quality from a speaker positioned very close to the mic. Doesn't alter sound profile really at all, but cuts down on fast breath scratching on the mic during certain sounds.- Includes a wind sock, though the pop filter is better.Dislikes:- The tripod and suspension don't use a standard 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 thread, so you're stuck with this tripod.- The mic is meant to be mounted facing the tripod mount point, but that limits the angle you can use it at - you can't tilt it up to face a speaker from a desk, like you'd probably want to in most cases.- If you flip the mic around so you can angle it up, the pop filter attachment point is in the way and it becomes tricky to position the filter in front of the mic, since it's a small area for the gooseneck to move in. See picture attached.Neutral:- Wind sock works well to cut wind, but also decreases bass response noticeably. Definitely stick to the pop filter if you can.- Overall, I think the audio quality is better from something like the Snowball blue ice mic, and that mic has pickup pattern settings where this one doesn't.- Non-detachable USB cable, which feels a little cheap but also isn't a huge drawback.All in all, there are some better mics available for not much more money, and some not-much-worse mics for much cheaper.
