I have the maddest of love for Cristin Harber, and so do many others, judging by her accomplishments as a New York Times and USA Today bestselling author! We have been waiting for Parker’s story for a while, and it did not disappoint.I don’t usually do this in reviews, but I feel the need to offer my opinion on some issues that I have read in a few reviews of Black Dawn. First, I will caveat that this book could hold triggers for those that have suffered from domestic violence. If that is the case for you, then you might want to skip this one and enjoy the other Titan series reads, as they are all outstanding in different ways. That being said, I feel that Cristin nailed the ugliness, and emotional and physical aspects of abuse, and captured beautifully the irony and apparent contradiction demonstrated by a strong, intelligent, and accomplished woman who becomes afraid to leave a bad situation and has no self worth. This was an integral part of this story and needed to be described in detail to ensure that the reader could relate to Lexi and the reasons for her actions.Next, some have said that the hacker and cyber worlds were not portrayed accurately or realistically, and that there would never be a social media site that would contain personal data on military families. One of the things I LOVE about Cristin is her imagination and her attention to detail. From what I have seen in the other Titan stories, she does her research and can break down a technical topic into terms that a non-techie can understand. Also, as someone that has some insight into the government world, I can say that some of the scenarios from Titan stories that some may think are unrealistic, are closer to truth than fiction! Cristin is absolutely a genius story teller and I would love to know some of her sources, but she will never tell!Some reviewers were disappointed that Parker’s story did not have the same level of action and guns as the others. I actually enjoyed the change of pace, and the idea that intelligence can be the most powerful weapon is very cool and very sexy. And make no mistake, Parker is certainly capable of coming out with guns blazing when necessary!As always, I love reading about my #1 book boyfriend, Jared, also known as the boss man of Titan, so it was nice to get my fix of him in this story and I loved catching up on some of the women of Titan. The part where even the pregnant wives helped out during a stakeout was priceless! I also enjoyed the unlikely friendship that arose between Lexi and Sugar.As is typical for Titan couples, the dynamic between Lexi and Parker was hot and explosive, and these two are definitely soul mates destined to be together.Finally, we were introduced to a few new Titans, so it looks like there will be more to come from this series. He is The Titan Group "Go-To" for all things technology. He can hack into almost anything and has amazing abilities to save the day from the confinds of his computer. I was more than delighted to learn more about Parker Black in Black Dawn. It was fantastic to see the man come out from behind his keyboard and show what he is really made of.Lexi Dare has two distinct sides to her; professional and personal. Though she is among the best in her field professionally, her personal life is turning her into a shell of the woman she used to be. She is fighting to free herself from the control of a domineering, abusive man.When her professional life collides with danger, Lexi has to trust her instincts. She attempts to hide in plain site and be untraceable, but even she can't run from Parker Black.Cristen Harber took a different turn with this story. Though she still infused Black Dawn with suspense and combustible chemistry, there was so much more to the storyline. I devoured this book as I burned through the pages to find out what would happen next.PS- Jeffrey Kafer does an amazing job of narrating this story. His performance only enhances Cristin's work. His ability to make the characters come to life continued to keep me hooked on this book! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ If there is somebody who could calculate his love for Lexi, you can count on Parker to do it!!!! *by C***A on Reviewed in the United States on October 16, 2016* One of my greatest mistakes was starting this book at 9:30 pm, the typical ... " I'll just read one chapter and then I'll go to bed" Every Cristin Harber addict should know this was an utter lie, since at 3:30 am had to put the book down to rest my eyes and try to get at least a couple of hours of sleep.Before I read it, I was intrigued on Parker and how his story would work out and the Lexi would be (since I am a total sucker for geeks). Well Cristin did an amazing job with pairing Lexi a girl who could understand how his mind works and how to push his buttons and write herself into his programming mind.I have to be honest, I found myself teary at some parts, but loved the awkward situation Parker was feeling trying to make sense of what to expect or react when Lexi was there, working himself through the different scenarios and sometimes his logic and the Lexi's logic didn't match up.I think this is one of my favorite installments of the Titan group.
