One person with a Phillips screwdriver, stud finder, and a level can do it. It was well package for shipping to avoid any issues also. The description is accurate for dimensions. The stone tray photo is very accurate. It is only about 1 inch wide but they give enough nice looking stones to cover it. I have another fireplace already (different brand) with a wider stone tray. If you want the stones to be a big focal point, this model may not have enough for your taste. But, mounted high on a wall, the stones are not really visible anyway. The unit is quiet and heating seems perfect for the room sizes mentioned. My only disappointment is the flames - they are very unrealistic. My older other brand model looks much nicer. These flames look like paint brush streaks. They do not have all the pointed flame tips like in the photo. But, the flame color is a very nice tone and on high they do cover all the screen unlike some other models. Overall, it meets my needs and I'm enjoying it.
