Price was reasonable, it was cordless and rechargeable, and had the Panasonic name behind it, so why not. It arrived with a charge, but I decided to let it completely charge overnight before testing it out. The instructions were good, although I am not sure of the extent to which it can handle water exposure. Obviously a full dunking is not recommended, but I do not see any gaskets leading me to assume the water is best kept away from the battery portion. I have thick hair (that shows no signs of thinning or slowing down, alas -- I believe this is the origin of Bigfoot, a human that lived long enough to be covered in hair, but I digress as usual...). Anyway, this guy works great for trimming up sideburns for those of us scarred by the '70s, around the ears in between barber visits, the neck/back, and even the more, ah, see no light areas of the body. The included pieces help limit too much hair removal. I could go so far as to say the razor would work well enough to give a full cut to the head, although I am too wimpy to try it on myself. As for cleaning, as noted I am not sure it can handle complete exposure to water, so I just clean the removable cutter portion, blowing or brushing out the powered portion. Be sure to use the oil after cleaning and let it sit out to dry (alcohol works great in a pinch to dry it before oiling). The charge lasts for months, unless you are Bigfoot, I imagine. Only thing I wish had was a case or bag to hold all the bits, and a better sealing oil container.
