Hopefully, it never will be. I'm very impressed with it's quality, however, and decided it really deserves a 5-star rating. Fifth wheel travel trailers are by their very nature less attractive to steal because the thief must come equipped with a fifth wheel hitch in their truck. 5er's also take a little more time to hook up, retract the landing gears, etc. I wasn't real concerned about my unit being taken until one was recently stolen from my "secured" storage facility. So, I began researching options. I looked at boots for the wheels and decided that they were either too easy for the thief to work around or that they were too much trouble me to attach and remove. I looked at several king pin security devices and settled on this one. Weighing in at 11.5 pounds, it is definitely heavy duty. It would take a tremendous amount of banging, cutting, sawing, torching or whatever to get this thing off. I'm pretty confident that a potential thief would just move on to an easier target. I purchased the model for a Pullrite SuperGlide hitch. It was a perfect fit and attached easily in spite of it's weight. It's very visible so as I said before, a thief would likely move on to another unit. The lock itself costs nearly as much as a year's insurance for my fifth wheel but who really wants to go through the headache of an insurance claim, getting paid much less than what the unit is worth (at least to me), spending additional money on a new unit, and spending more time and money setting it up the way I want it.
