It leaves a residue that will bring static charges to zero volts. If your soles are rubber, rubber is insulative so charges build up. Static Sentry could eliminate a charge but since dirt is an insulator, in may not work for long. Plus, anti-stats are slippery so I cannot recommend this product on the bottom of footwear. The best thing to do is switch to either switch to leather soles to reduce static build up, or see if there are ways to mitigate static within our environment. It is not recommended to use aerosol spray directly on electronics. There have been people that have used a combination of Heavy Duty Staticide mixed in isopropyl alcohol to keep vinyl records clean longer. Staticide Sentry is Heavy Duty Staticide with 70-75% isopropyl alcohol so it is the right mix. Although the Staticide will help repel static and dust attraction, it leaves a residue on the record. It is possible that the residue can build up on the stylus. For this reason, ACL doesn't recommend using Staticide as a vinyl LP cleaning solution without some form of experimentation. Try using an anti-static brush made for LP cleaning to remove particles of dust. Afterwards, with a microfiber cloth like the MFC1, clean with a mixture of isopropyl alcohol and distilled water. The microfiber cloth as it is soft and lint-free and should not scratch the vinyl. When cleaning electronics, spray Static Sentry on a lint-free or low-lint cloth and wipe down all plastic surfaces like the CD tray and housing of the device. Avoid dripping liquid into any machine. I've used it on home circulation returns and it keeps the return cleaner longer by reducing dust attraction. Depending on the dust collection system, the excessive dust might cancel out the benefits. For example, if this is a dust collector for wood working, there is so much dust being sucked through the tube, the product might not be as effective as it would be with natural air-borne dust because it is being covered with debris. It that case, I would apply to the outside of the tube to help reduce charges that may cause sparking. The only other thing to consider is that there is an odor from the solvent.
