It was recommended on a respected gerbil breeders website so I bought it even though it seemed expensive. Well, it turned out to be a great value. For a 40 gallon tank it only took around 1/5 of a bag. This stuff fluffs up so you need much less than you think. I ended up having to remove some because the volume was too great the first time round so the second time I got smart and put in less than I thought. We mixed it with some aspen and Timothy hay. The next day we added one more handful of Fibrecore to create enough for burrowing. This is the best burrowing material ever. The gerbils love it.
