A must-have for fans of Disgaea's art style
If you've played any Disgaea game before, you know the graphics are dated... but it's hard to mind when everything, from the characters to the environments, just ooze style. If you agree with me in that, then you need to get this book, dood.I like how the book is formatted. It goes in reverse chronological order, slowly leading you into the nostalgic days of the first game. After these chapters, there is a section for media related to the games, like the soundtracks and Japanese novels. In order to make sure that each picture is as big as can be, the reference of where the art came from (CD cover? postcard? ending scene?) is in an index at the back of the book. This lets you simply admire the art. Even though I love the Disgaea series, there was a surprising amount of artwork I had never seen before. In a few cases, that's simply because the picture is new, but in other cases, it's because the picture is rare.Remember, the purpose of this book is to give you an easy means of viewing the art. Save for a few words from Takehito Harada (in English), there is hardly any reading in here. That's not a flaw, but something to keep in mind... zam.And what if you haven't played all the Disgaea games? Well, I haven't played the fourth one, to be honest, but I still loved the art taken from it. If you like Takehito Harada's style and have played at least one or two of the games, I'm sure you'll enjoy this book. The book itself has a firm cover, though it's not hardcover. The pages are also firm, so this really is a nice collector's item that should hold up well.Overall, if you like Disgaea's art, you'll like this book: simple as that. Boom!

Fragile Masterpiece
The book looks a bit fragile, like the cover is not hardcover (where book corners will eventually get ruined if you're not careful) and you can't open the book by 180° or the spine is gonna collapse. BUT it's a good Disgaea collection with the illustrations that all Disgaea fans fawn over (including me). I love it nonetheless. You just gotta be careful handling it like 'glass'. You can check the pictures to see some of the contents you would get. Disgaea 4 is VERY VERY scarce in content compared to the other Disgaea series.

Item was torn on delivery.
I would've given this a better rating, but the package was rammed into my mailbox despite not fitting, which tore the front cover and the first 10 or so pages.Edit: Item was returned and replaced, replacement was not damaged on arrival.

The best disgaea art compliation to date
After months of waiting (and then forgetting), I finally received this in the mail. Today, in fact.Disgaeart!!! compiles artwork from all four Disgaea games, its spinoffs (like Prinny: Can I Really Be a Hero), plus a few pieces for Makai since it's so easy to tie-in Zetta and his crazy friends. It's 190 pages of beautiful art that fans have been waiting for FOREVER! The first reason I purchased this is because I'm a huge fan and supporter of the series, while the second reason is because I have grown fond of the unique art-style that Disgaea has had and developed over the years. I believe its worth studying. This art book definitely delivers. When purchasing this, please remember that this is a ILLUSTRATION COMPILATION. This is not a casual, behind-the-scenes art-in-development art book, like how Capcom makes their [Insert Game Name]: Official Complete Works.Friendly Reminder: Please check what exactly it is you are buying before buying it.

Great quality book. Adorably designed characters
Art books should strive to be organized in such a way as this one, which is organized by game title. Always have had an adoration for how Disgaea somehow manages to give characters a mix of both cute and edgy in their character designs.Book is well designed and organized and the quality of the book itself is very good. I've come across art books with pages that literally rip from turning pages or from the spine. It's nice to get ones that don't have this problem.

Simply a good artbook
Honestly when it comes to this particular product there is not a whole to say. It's a great artbook with cover, screen, promotional, and random other bits of art from the Disgaea game series as well as a few little pieces for Makai Kingdom and Phantom Brave. You get your money's worth when it comes to the art and it's definitely worth it if you are a fan of the Disgaea games and artbooks in general.

I absolutely LOVE it!
The art style presented by the DIsgaea game series is among, if not, my absolute favorite commercial art out there and this book is FILLED with its glorious beauty! Pictures for the first 4 main series games are included and separated accordingly, a fifth section is also included that compiles other images from all over the series.

Very nice
Very clear printing, fun and awesome artwork.Only complaint (if any) is that the book is massive! Not much room to stand it up vertically on my desk

Chock full of wonderful, varied art!
From start to finish almost every single page is filled with fantastic art. Split into five sections covering - Disgaea 1/2/3/4 and 'The world of Disgaea' with artwork from the Prinny games and TV animated series its just under 200pgs in length. The artwork is mostly Takehito Harada, the artist for all the Disgaea games, the book containts a mixture of promotional art, book covers, soundtrack art, in-game artwork, character art and the game covers. For us, outside Japan a lot of this artwork will be new and unfamiliar except for the in-game art. The book is well bound with high quality paper and a glossy front cover. Most of the art work is full page prints, a lot of them are characters in the zany and crazy poses we know and love them for - focused a lot more on the female characters perhaps (this is not a bad thing!) There are unfortunately no interviews or real text inside the book to speak of apart from an introduction and index at the back. Get this book to enjoy the creativity that has gone into the Disgaea series, a must for collectors or fans of the game series or the anime style in general.

Bella
