(However, I praise its sound quality and versatility, which is OS-independent.)I had been using MOTU AVB series for quite a while, until their recent BIOS update broke compatibility with Linux (we use pro audio equipment for high quality audio streaming service). After some search, I decided to give Focusrite Scarlett 18i20 a try.The result is very pleasing! Right out of the box, it works in PulseAudio and JACK. The sound quality is excellent (I especially like the air setting for the vocal microphone).There are things I wish it had, but these are really minor things:1. I wish it had a built-in web server with API capability like MOTU AVB so the configuration can be truly cross-platform. For now, I can use their tool under Windows/OSX to configure it once, and then use it in Linux. (By the way, the configuration part is being worked on in the Linux community and it should be ready soon.)2. I wish the one could toggle the monitor meters between input and output. It'll help a lot in troubleshooting.3. I wish the headphone outputs were not hardwired to hardware ports so I can have even more flexibility.I am very happy that I found this unit.
