No more guessing! I had only been off by 500 degrees and yet the difference is astounding. An additional minor benefit of the domes is you can see the broad variations in the lighting in the test picture.If you are shooting video on DSLR's, the video files are NOT RAW; they are jpg. Which means the better the color settings are in the original file, the better the output color. For us primarily still shooters, this is a difficult concept since we're probably used to making whatever adjustments we want in camera raw. But my new understaing on this is that video in DSLR's is less flexible. I always used a gray card for post, but getting the color temp correct up front, esp for video is an amazing improvement. Compared to a few other devices, I like the domes because you can use them on any lens and they are indestructible.One last thing, on Canons, after selecting the picture you take as your custom white balance source, you have to go back and select "Custom" as the white balance type in the White Balance selector. It is so weird it took me a while to figure that one out.The camera won't tell you what the temp is, which is a major bummer, but if you shoot a raw pic before your video, PS will tell you the temp of that raw file, which is how I know I had been shooting about 500 degrees high in most of my vids.If the instructions had explained how to set the camera, which they should do since there are really only a few major brands out there, then I'd give the product itself 5 stars. Esp if the price was a bit lower. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ I get almost exact same results with a cheap collapsible gray card. *by R***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 16, 2019* It rarely gets a different result than a much cheaper gray card. If it is different at all it is very minor. Size is good for packing away, but if you intend to white balance with it in camera it can be tough since the dome is pretty small. I find myself just barely hanging out of the edges of the metering circle with my Sony to use the set WB function. Even just holding it still enough to get it to meter properly can be tough since there is a very small margin for error. You only have to move it a tad to pick up background color in the metering circle rather than only gray which screws up the balance. There are definitely cheaper alternatives that are easier to use, and will get you very similar results. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great, specially with Sony cameras *by K***6 on Reviewed in the United States on June 15, 2015* Good product from a man whom I highly respect that knows his photography.Bought this 'kit' to use with my Sony A77II to achieve more accurate and consistent white balance.Will be using the gray dome mostly and was not all that impressed with the neck strap design.So I attached a small P&S camera strap (that I had purchased some time ago for a camera I no longer have) to the gray dome.The strap is a good reminder for me to use the device and takes up little space in the camera bag.The rest of the gear will just collect dust for now. Gary has some excellent instructional videos on u-tube that explain how to use the equipment.
