I thin these with Tamiya X-20 thinner that previously had 10% retarder added to it. I thin at approx 2:1 and spray at around 15psi - I mostly use my Badger 105, Eclipse or Tamiya SF and haven't had any issue with them. You can thin these with any of the following: water, IPA, lacquer thinner or Tamiya but whilst water is best for brushing, it doesn't flow as well as the Tamiya. The lacquer thinners cause these to dry a bit to quick for my taste. Previous posters mention Vallejo's already thinned paint range for airbrushing called 'Model Air'. Be advised though that you are paying the same price for pre thinned paint so it is not the most economical way to go about it (especially with larger subjects like a 1/35 Jagdtiger) and should you wish to adjust your ratio its more difficult with pre thinned. **Q: Paint scrapes off? no matter what i put this paint on it srapes off way to easy. im trying to do plastic models and such but it dosent work.** A: Did you wash your model kit first? Models and some plastic miniatures have mold release agents on them from the manufacturing process, that slight film of release agent can prevent paint from sticking. Worth the price!!! ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The best acrilyc paint *by F***R on April 18, 2026* Excellent ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Top of the Line Paints from the GOAT Model Paint Company *by D***S on January 19, 2023* If you are looking at this because you have never had a box of paint from Vallejo, I can say without a doubt that in terms of quality their Model Color paint line is above and beyond the best paint money can buy for painting miniatures and scale models while maintaining a large selection of colors at a reasonable price. Initially, for around 25-30 dollars I was very skeptical about these assorted paint sets but breaking the math down at the current listed price of $26.17 for 16 paints it comes out to ~$1.63 per paint, which is at least a dollar better than what any game store I've been to will sell these to you for on an individual basis, with retail outlets like Hobby Lobby charging as much as $5 a dropper bottle of the same size. Outside of pricing, what you get for your money is some of the best color, coverage, and smoothness of any paint, though like every acrylic product, do not think you can use this straight out the bottle, thin your paints with water, or, PREFERABLY something like Vallejo Glaze Medium for longer usability on the palette and better, smoother texture from the brush. I got this box because it comes with a nice medium tone, Flat Red color as well as the coveted Yellow Ochre which pretty much has the best opacity and deepest yellow out of any yellow paint I've ever tried, along with other great paints like basic blues, greens, and everything else you need to paint just about anything you can think of. I use these for both brushing and airbrushing just fine and again, so long as you thin them respectively for either medium they're perfect. If you've never tried Vallejo, get this box.
