PROS: 1. a little goes a long way. i have hair maybe 7 inches long on top, from front to back (shorter as it goes back) (hair type: straight, thick) and I'm maybe only using a quarters sized dab for the hold that i need to get me through the day. 2. great hold (i'd rate it 7.5 out of 10). i don't use this as a pre-styler (for that, I use volumizing mousse) but rather i use it as a finishing product, into completely dry hair (achieved with a blowdryer). 3. you hairstyle can be adjusted throughout the day - the hold remains strong, and it's easy to run your fingers through your hair without tugging or feeling weighed down. If you are worried about not getting volume also use the powder that mister pompadour makes. That's what I do. I blow dry my hair, use the powder, then put this through my hair. Is it unscented?** A: There is a fragrance. **Q: How does this handle getting your hair wet with product applied, say after a good amusement park water ride, or dip in the ocean? Does it repel water?** A: I haven't completely submerged myself in water with this product but from my experience in adding water to my hair after it's been applied, your hair will get heavier and lose the style/shape you began with. This product does well with a slight damp (directly out of the shower) but towel dried hair. The less damp your hair is the easier it is for it to maintain the hold. I gave it 5 stars becasue it was a quality product made from quality natrual ingredients that had a premium texture and scent. Over time, the product got more expensive, but I continued purchasing it because it was a premium product. However, about six months ago, I ran out of this hair product (Natural Beeswax Paste) and was using Mister Pompadour Moroccan Texture Paste in the interim. When I finally saw that Natural Beeswax Paste was back in stock, I stocked up in case it sold out again. Sadly, the Natural Beeswax Paste has a new formular that is not the same. It's not the same color, texture, consistency, or scent. It lacks the premium-ness that the original formula had. Sadly, for the price, there may be better options. My low rating is also influenced by the fact that no where on the website or email communciations does it say or display that this product significantly changed from the previous version. In that sense, I felt like I was duped into purchasing what I thought was the original Natural Beeswax Paste. Note: The Moroccan Texture Paste also had a change in formula.
