So, it does seem to work... barely.The design though is very difficult to read. Not only do I need to be in a very bright room and have this pointed almost directly at the light source to be able to read it "clearly", but the scale is also so smashed together that minute details are hella difficult to read. And when my astigmatism flares, it's even worse. No, I can't use this with my glasses on and I don't have contacts available in my Rx.I will continue to work with this. Looking for other products that measure just salinity, it seems that the only things available are manual refractometers like this. The digital meters do TDS which I don't believe is what I need. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars For salt system pools or spas too! *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on November 15, 2019* Actually the instrument works great but the way I use it makes it a little hard to read because I'm reading 3,000 ppm with a salt hot tub and it converts to 3 on the scale. Salt test strips for pool/spa cost about $1.50 each so the instrument is a much cheaper way to test the water.
