You can put a spacer sleeve around an 18650 cell and put that in the light. Some lights come with spacer sleeves, other don't. The sleeves are usually a simple piece of PVC pipe cut to length. The sleeve simple keeps the 18650 cell centered in the space of a 26650 cell. The cell (battery) voltage is the same for an 18650 and 26650. The difference is the capacity. Think a bigger vs. smaller gas tank. FYI: The numbers 18650 and 26650 simply are the diameter of a cell and the length, with a zero added at the end. An 18650 cell is 18 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length. A 26650 cell is 26 mm in diameter and 65 mm in length. The voltages are the same. In general the bigger the diameter, the greater the cell capacity, but that doesn't always hold true. Look for the mAh rating listed on the cell.
