Works great. It is the real deal, but the layout is obviously not ideal if you're used to English layout. Not a big deal if you're willing to do a little work. The small keys can be easily popped and re-arranged, and I used KeyTreak (freeware) to re-map the keys. Good buy at $40.

The Alienware TactX is not a mechanical keyboard, it's made of membrane, but it's actually a hybrid. Alienware made their own technology and the keys feel like they had individual mechanisms. They're not soft, but also not hard, and also, they're not loud at all.I can't confirm if the keys have anti-ghosting technology, but it sure does feel like it when I'm playing.You 6 macro keys, with a software that will allow you to have 3 sets of them, that's 18 macros on a $50 keyboard. There's also a Record button, so you can map actions or anything you want in an specific timing in your macros.There's also a Windows button lock switch, which deactivates it. A nicely designed multimedia keyboard, and a mute button.I'm a native Spanish speaker, but I went for this model because the key setting is almost the same, so you save about $20.You can change the lights via the Alienware Command Center, there's 20 colors to pick, one for the keyboard and macros, and the other one for your multimedia keys. You can't change the intensity of the lights, but if you select the black, the lights turn off. I have not had a problem with this, I don't like super bright keys and I can use it perfectly with no light without getting blind.This is not an Alienware laptop, so you won't have a color gradient on your keyboard. just fixed lights for each of the 2 parts, and you can have different colors on each one.I would give it 4.5 stars because the Command Center that came with the installation disc was pretty much useless, and I had to download several of them until I found which one worked, just look up for version 3.0.29.0, that works for me on Windows 7.The seller was great also, they said it didn't come in the original packaging but I still the box either way. and it came inside another box, so extra protection was offered. It arrived very fast.
