She has been talking about maybe going into the military and using her Montgomery GI Bill to pay for college. Now she is getting "cold feet" saying that she is afraid that she will join and not like it. I've tried to tell her that it is not that bad in BMT as what you see in movies, the Air Force isn't the Marine Corp. Now she will not read the book, says she doesn't have time. I picked it up and didn't put it down until it was finished. The biggest complaint I had was there was a lot of "typos" and a bunch of misspellings, it looked like the author had edited sentences and had left double words. ### ⭐⭐⭐ 3.0 out of 5 stars Beware of errors! *by R***. on Reviewed in the United States on June 28, 2012* Many things about this book are correct, but a lot of it isn't. There are plenty of spelling and grammar mistakes, the physical requirements to graduate are incorrect (unless you're shooting to get a pretty ribbon if/when you do graduate), you're not as rushed to eat and there is a much bigger variety of food than chili mac and bread, at least when it comes to dinner and lunch. Breakfast is always the same, but sometimes they somehow cook it differently. Yes the book is helpful, but a LOT of what you will experience in BMT you can't just read about; you have to actually be there. There is plenty of screaming, a LOT of rushing, and if you're slow you'll do it again until you get to about 2nd week when they start making you beat your face. Also, if you have a Kindle, I highly recommend either bringing a very cushioned bag to hold your Kindle or don't bring it at all. Instructors aren't the most careful with your personal belongings, and when you're done with BMT either by graduating or getting kicked out, you'll find its screen cracked and you'll need to turn it in for a new one.One more thing: No matter what your recruiter says to you, DO NOT LIE ABOUT ANYTHING! They WILL double check everything in BMT, and they'll wait until you get your name tags to actually do something about it.
