The Echo Dot slid right in with no issue and I didn't have any issues with the stand holding the weight. I've played music from it and there have been no issues, I can't tell much of a difference with the sound because I never had it sitting on the night stand but the sound is clear. Note though that this is a cheap piece of plastic, the design is great but the material is ok so don't expect it to look "expensive" next to other expensive items. I could actually see some flaws in the color of the plastic but for the price I can't expect much. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Space is Important..... *by V***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 2, 2019* Space/footprint is important to me, you see my CPAP, SoClean, Charging Station, Pen/misc item cup holder in the picture so setting the Dot upright helps. This doesn’t even factor in the huge difference the angle makes for audio input. LASTLY, it took longer to unbox this holder than it did to set the Dot up. I have Echo and Dots 1st, 2nd & 3rd gen and three different model stands. This is the BEST!!! ### ⭐⭐ This didn't work well for me *by S***2 on Reviewed in the United States on October 3, 2019* Bought this for my mother's 3rd gen Dot - the problem wasn't in the construction, it was pretty sturdy and seemed to be well constructed......the problem is in the design. The speaker of the 3rd gen Dots is around the Dot's perimeter, and this holder (while it admittedly LOOKS super cool from the front) totally muffles the sound coming out, as once mounted, the speaker is contained entirely behind the holder. It made it so my mother couldn't really hear the Dot unless she was right next to it or behind it. So this went back. Unfortunate - as the idea is a great one.
