The gauge is cosmetic and lends itself to the steampunk vibe as do the ornamental rivets on the front. The knurling on the top of the flask is comfortable and adequate enough to provide grip when one's digits might be a little relaxed after imbibing. The slight curvature of the flask lends itself to to a comfortable fit in the pocket.The only negative and its not worth reducing a star over is the lack of a funnel. The button opens so you can take the flask off for drinking. It's perfect for costumes. BUT the glass/plastic piece on the front popped off the very first time I showed it to someone. I guess I should have returned it but never got around to it. I attempted to superglue it and it came off again.
