Review: Is there a six star rating?? - I'll start with this : 5 stars. I've ran into this charger port a couple times, and I've broken it a couple times, too. Sneezing on it might just break the charger port the Pi Foundation uses. But I'm not reviewing the port. The broken ports were caused by one of two things : Either inserting and removing the charging pin over and over again, or, dropping the device whilst charging (which effectively ripped the charging port right out of my ASUS Android Tablet). The great thing about this cable? Plug it in, and secure the charger pin to the device, and you can use the switch as an effective power button. +1 Now, I thought this was going to be a cheap circuit breaker that just restarts the device when you push the button, giving similar results as simply unplugging/plugging the cord into the Pi. No no. This is actually a (very well working) on and off switch. +1 You push it once, and the power will not be delivered to the Pi. Push it again, and it's powered on. And if that wasn't the best part about this cord, the cord is USB, so you don't have prongs to plug into an outlet, instead you can plug it into anything you use to charge a phone, or, even better yet, a portable power bank! +1 (And none of the stepping on the prongs and bending them, or hurting your foot. +1) So overall, this product has four positive factors to it for me without any of the negative defects I've seen in my travels. It works very well and will save you tons of headache with plugging and unplugging your Raspberry Pi. Remember, that USB connector is a surface mount component. It's not "through hole" where the leads are physically soldered to the opposite side of the PCB. The physical connection to the board is literally only as good as the bond between the copper layer and the fiberglass. No more plugging and unplugging at either end of the cable. Just click the switch. It's a good switch, too. You know when you're activating it. Also, the plastic molding doesn't interfere with the Vilros case. My beefy Monoprice cable was good, but heavy enough that it would fall out with the slightest provocation. Thumbs up!
