However, because of where I live buying my favorite gochujang is difficult if not impossible without the help of the internet. So I was thrilled that I could find it on desertcart and for a reasonable price. Much to my dismay, this product page is a bit misleading and can cause some problems for some. There's not a lot of description and the only indication we get for size is "450 grams." I am used to paying about $17-20 for a large container of gochujang and so I assumed from the photo and price point that this would be a larger container (and let's be honest, as an American 450 grams is difficult for me to picture without help). Well, it's not what I hoped it would be - it's a fraction of the size I was expecting. I bought another one from a different store, the size I wanted, and it's 2.5 kilograms. Furthermore, when the gochujang arrived I discovered the product expiration date had been marked over with a sharpie and a new one stamped on it. I'll post a photo as proof as soon as I get it off my phone. Gochujang is very acidic, so it keeps a long time, but receiving an overpriced, out of date product with the expiration marked over is sketchy at best. The product itself wound up being fine, and for anyone interested in buying gochujang I HIGHLY recommend the Sunchang brand, but I'd suggest finding it from a better seller who won't overcharge or send you an out-of-date product.
