Excellent 3-Way Router!
This 3 way router is outstanding! I am using this as a WiFi extender in my motorhome to facilitate acquiring WiFi signals which are difficult to receive. I have this device connected to both a WiFi amplifier and and external antenna on my motorhome. The unit is extremely easy to configure as a WiFi extender. Setup took all of 3 minutes. While this device is not the latest technology and is not as fast as newer devices, this is perfect for my application. In addition the price was amazing. So if you are in need of a WiFi extender or low cost router for your house (or if you're like me, your motorhome) this is a great choice. It's always nice when the product you receive is exactly as advertised and works right out of the box. I hope this review was helpful in helping you make a good decision for purchasing this device.

Beautiful Design Easy To Set Up Works Great
Though my existing two WiFi routers function throughout the home in Long Island New York I made the mistake of accepting the expensive fancy but really frustrating wireless iComfort Internet connected thermostats for my new central air-conditioning units. The one downstairs is merely 30 or so feet from the WiFi routers that all devices can see but it does not. So I had to get an extender just for that. With the prices of these great devices now quite affordable it was not really the money aspect of it (which is still an irritant) but the fact that a new device has to be purchased, taking up space, wasting more energy, etc. I had tried a cheaper popular model but it was nothing but a pain. So I went with this brand that I know and love having my 3D laptop workstation with, ASUS. As always, a quality product, well designed, really easy to set up, works flawlessly, and looks great. I placed it next to my now nearly 9 years old iMac which I use as a server for my personal business server. It has been on WiFi for years but obviously it does not support the latest fastest WiFi standards. Now I can have one of the ethernet ports of this extender plugged into the iMac and, though still WiFi but now through the ASUS, the speed difference in the iMac's performance is visually noticeable. Highly recommend this over any cheap units.

Good range, stable router (AP mode review)
I bought this wireless router to use it in access point mode. It has worked, very stable. The external antenas are a big plus because you get gain from them and you can swap them for even better/more specialized ones.On AP mode the router has been stable, it has over a month of uptime, with no issues or disconnections that I could detect. I am using this on an original Ring video doorbell. This AP always provides the speed required by the doorbell, which seems to be fixed to 1Mbps by Ring, not the WiFi. The doorbell reports -59dBm of RSSI and the AP reports -67dBm. They are about 15 meters apart. The AP is on a second story, a meter away from the window. The window has iron bars. 15 meters away, at ground level, is a concrete column where the Ring doorbell is installed. This columns has a couple of iron bars through it. The Ring doorbell is placed in such a way that the column is right between the AP and the Ring. The device has access to a telnet console, with Linux, it also has a good enough system log and a log of the clients connected to the AP.I am quite satisfied with the stock firmware. It is not as customizable as DD-WRT but it works well.Roaming assistant does not work, though. Roaming assistant is supposed to kick out devices (clients) with poor signal. The idea is that after they get kicked out they will connect to a WiFi access point with better signal. That way, this AP is not loaded unnecessarily and the clients get a better connection. In my tests the Realtek WiFi card I was using was not kicked. I still wonder who is at fault, so I will not remove any stars from the product for this particular reason. One thing about the guest network: it is supposedly isolated from the home network, only giving you access to the internet, not the home LAN. In AP mode the guest network doesn’t work this way: clients connected to the guest network can see devices in the home network, in my case including UPnP, SMB shares and all kinds of broadcasts. I suppose this feature only works in the “wireless router” mode. The physical construction is nice, nice texture too. The front/top of the device is textured and a little bit translucent... this makes the light from LEDs leak all around the case and you can sometimes see what’s inside the router. That’s not very professional, but I don’t care too much because the device is not on my sight normally.

I love the features
This router is great. The price is right, and the range and speed are good. I can game on it while the wife streams HD shows/movies. No issues at all. I really like the features it has. It can be used as a normal router, or even an extender if needed. Another feature I really love is the QoS, quality of service. You can set it up to prioritize packets. That means if you have bottle necks in your network, you can try to solve it using the QoS. This is very helpful if you have many devices running at once. Another nice feature is you can set up to 3 guest networks. The guest networks run kind of independently from the main network. The router isolates it from your main. You can also limit bandwidth on only the guest network.Overall this is a great router packed with lots of features. It has a decent range, and is fast enough for what I use it for.

Bien
