From the Manufacturer          Perfect for upgrading your sharpening system or replacing used stones. Our accessory hones can be used with all Gatco sharpening systems. All Gatco sharpening hones have an integral guide rod holder with easy-out for use, easy in for storage sliding guide rod. Our premium grade abrasives insure fast and efficient cutting of all steels, even those which have been traditionally difficult to sharpen. Ergonomically designed hones with longer, wider stones than competitive models sharpen edges quickly, while safety rails protect finger tips. Gatco's fine sharpening hone produces a keen cutting edge.

Works.  Makes that edge but wears quicker than I would like.  I follow this with the ceramic polisher (1200 grit ceramic) and I get shiny, mirror edges that will pop hairs like a shaver.....if done properly.  It does take a little fine motor skill and attention to detail to get a really good edge.  Don't expect great edges with mediocre technique.
