Review: My kids love this. They saw one that someone else had ... - My kids love this. They saw one that someone else had at a nerf paty, and even I noticed it. I really didn't want to buy another nerf gun, because we just have so many, but I couldn't deny that it was cool, so after a lot of begging, I caved and got it. (the other son picked out a different nerf gun, but now he wants one of these too, so i'll be buying another one.) Nerf has taken a lot of my money over the last few years, but if you're familiar with the product, this works as well as their other stuff does. Can't fire these things too fast in my experience, but once the kids know how to use them, tends to be just fine, and this is the same. It is pretty cool, really, shoots farther than I thought (sorry, not good at estimating distance, so i'm not gonna try here). The little stand works just fine. It would be nice if it came with a few more bullets, but I feel that way about all these guns (even though at this point I have nerf bullets pretty much everywhere in my house, and yard, and car, and garage and, well, you get the picture). If you have a kid that likes nerf guns and is asking for this, I'd say it's a good buy for the money. (For the record, the one my kids first saw that started this whole mess, yeah, didn't belong to a kid, belonged to his dad, haha, but I kinda get it. So this is fun for adults, too). Comparable to other nerf guns in terms of sturdiness, maybe a little more so even, it's pretty big, almost as big as the kids. They really enjoy the whole sniper thing, laying down in the yard or across the street, so, if you're thinking about this one, i'd say it's a pretty good purchase. Now I just have to go buy some bullets for it again. As usual. I love you nerf, but I don't think my bank account does.
Review: Escalate your Office Warfare: The (Big) Nerf gun for (Big) Kids. - This nerf gun rocks. Here's what I've gleaned after about a month of using it to completely dominate my office. THE GOOD: 1. It's big. I'm a towering 5 foot six with little T-rex arms. This thing is probably at the upper limit of comfortable reach for me, and I find myself using the clip as a forward grip rather than the actual grip on the weapon. If you're familiar with an M-4 or M-16, it's a slightly longer distance to reach than these actual weapons. The clip is a comfortable enough handle anyway, and solidly locks into the receiver, so you can easily maneuver it from there. Unless you have a very large ten-year-old, or are a perpetual ten-year-old, this product is likely going to be unwieldy and cumbersome. On the other hand, it's a massive gun with some pretty seriously scary looks if you're on the other end. Thankfully Nerf darts don't hurt. 2. It sounds GREAT Nerf nailed the spring sound with this one. When cycling and chambering a round, you get a raspy but still intimidating Cha-CHUNK as you prepare to fire. When you pull the trigger, there's enough weight to the spring to give it minor, minor recoil and a meaty firing sound. While not super accurate beyond about 30 feet, if you can get a dart on target it's hard for people to dodge on reflex. The sounds as you prep to send rounds down upon some shmuck has caused a few people to surrender before I actually fired. Jokes on them, they still got hit. 3. It's got range Large darts mean that they can use a larger spring to power their flight, while still keeping them on target. Nerf guns are inherently inaccurate at range, and this one is no different. Beyond about 50 feet you're looking in about one round in three being on target, but the others will be reasonably close. Seeing as it's billed as a "sniper" style weapon, I feel it reasonably lives up to what you should expect from a lever-operated nerf rifle. 4. It's solidly built My Centurion has been dropped, bumped, knocked over and in one instance thrown twenty feet into a wall. (Sore losers are never fun.) Despite all the abuse it has suffered in the office battlefield, it still keeps working as if it was brand new. The internals are performing just the same as several hundred battles ago, and have only suffered the occasional jam when I attempted to load a rather worn dart into it. It just keeps on trucking. THE BAD: 1. The tripod attachment is virtually useless. I took it off within the first hour and have yet to re-attach it. It's flimsily made and even more delicate in how it actually attaches to the blaster. Small bumps, adjustments in the prone and turning quickly will send it falling off the weapon. Besides, it does little to actually elevate the weapon. Seeing as the Centurion weighs about four to five pounds fully loaded, there's not really a need to distribute or reduce the weight of the weapon either. 2. Mega Darts are expensive compared to normal ones. They work great, and hold up longer and to more abuse, and fly further than the normal blue ones, but a pack of 20 is about $10. With how far the Centurion shoots, you're bound to lose a few with every battle, especially if you're taking advantage of the range of the gun. While less a gripe about the weapon, it's something to take into account as you prepare to engage in office combat. Definitely buy a refill or two. 3. Rate of fire is fairly low. If you've read up on this product, complaints about jams are very present. The surefire way to prevent jams is to fully push the charging handle forward, pull the handle fully to the rear, wait a moment, and then fully push the charging handle forward. Since using this technique, my jams have only been caused by using darts that have been badly abused (rolled over with office chairs, stepped on, or otherwise creased). The problem that causes this is that the magazine spring is not as strong as it should be, and it takes a moment to actually move a dart from the magazine to the chamber. If you want to take the magazine apart and add in another spring, it's possible. Or you can pay the patient sniper, and pick your shots and aim carefully. 4. I haven't yet found a source for additional magazines (if you know of one, please let me know!) Six rounds is very little in a Nerf battle, but you can load single rounds directly into the chamber or reload the clip in a relatively short amount of time. When people know how many shots you have, you're wide open while reloading. Consider getting a side-arm that also take Mega darts if you find yourself being assaulted while reloading. General Tips: When not using it, unload your magazine. It keeps the spring from becoming used to its "loaded" state and weakening Set up in cover, and get yourself a side-arm when people get too close to you, preferably one that also uses Mega Darts Distance is your friend. Use and abuse it, but try not to run and gun. You have six shots. That should be six hits. There isn't a need to arc your shots inside about 40-50 feet. Point it at their chest and let it rip. Pick up extra Mega Darts. The range you'll be shooting at people means that they won't all be easy to find. Give the magazine a moment to actually put the dart in the chamber. If you're hasty, you're gonna jam it. Don't use damaged darts. It's gonna get jammed. All in all, I love my Centurion and have come to call it "Velma". The office knows that starting a duel with me is going to be one where they must deftly maneuver and take advantage of openings to do anything, as I have everything locked down from further than they can shoot. The sound of my slide cocking is a signal to take cover, lest you get pegged. Definitely my favorite weapon from my collection. It sits proudly off to the side of my desk, while the rest of my nerf guns are in a drawer somewhere.

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Decent gun
*by K***Y on December 8, 2013*

The company that makes special equipped guns that shoot darts, Nerf, came out with their latest weapon known as the Centurion Blaster. It is the biggest gun that Nerf has come up with in the Nerf gun stable. The Centurion Blaster has been a hot buy since its release, expecting to be a big buy this holiday season as well. The Centurion Blaster is a great toy of all ages because of its possible attachments, power, and range. The Centurion Blaster is a great toy for all ages because of the possible attachments that can be equipped with it. Having attachments in nerf warfare is certainly a necessity in the battlegrounds of one’s basement. The Centurion Blaster is equipped with two separate attachment slots on the gun. The first slot is located on top of the gun, perfect for a slot to put a red dot sight or another scope for improved accuracy and aim when trying to get fellow combatants. The next convenient slot is located under the barrel, which is perfect sticking a small pistol attachment, extra darts, or a red laser to even further improve one’s accuracy. The two attachment slots on this gun help the operator be the most effective nerf warrior they can be. In the end, this is how the attachment slots on the Centurion Blaster help make this toy great for all ages. The Centurion Blaster is an excellent toy because of the power it has. Nerf has come a long way in developing the power of their nerf guns. This new gun has even greater power than the rocket launcher that can be purchased also. The power of the Centurion Blaster comes from the big size the gun has. This gun is the biggest that Nerf has produced in their history of making Nerf guns. The size of the barrel allows for the gun to project the dart at a high rate of speed onto a target. The gun also deliverers a nice shot to victim (please remember no shots to the face). Also, the specific dart that is used helps with the power of the gun. The darts used for this gun are a special kind of dart that are big enough to be fired effectively through the barrel of the gun. In the end, this is how the power of the Centurion Blaster makes it a great toy for everybody to use. Moving on, the Centurion Blaster is a great toy for all ages because of the range of the gun. The earlier Nerf guns could only project darts from a few feet away and someone could easy come back and shoot you. This gun allows for extremely long distance shots of about 100 feet away. Not only is this good for the classical nerf warfare, but it is great if someone wanted to surprise someone with an unexpected shot without giving themselves away or having to be up really close. The gun has great range and also has great accuracy, which is hard to have in which at longer ranges it is easy for darts to take a curve and miss the target. The Centurion Blaster is a great toy for everybody to enjoy because of the attachment slots it offers, the power of the gun, and the range of the gun. This gun is definitely a huge step for Nerf, and could be the start of an ever changing way of having Nerf wars in the basement or backyards. Many kids will enjoy and want this gun for Christmas; it is a great gun to show off to their friends and especially if they want to be a “game changer.” The Centurion Blaster has everything one needs in a nerf gun; specific darts for the gun so kids do not jam the barrel, great power to project the darts, accuracy to reach the targets, and range to have the option to be stealthy. In the end, the Centurion Blaster is a great buy for anybody.
