They don't sound good on a dreadnaught acoustic though, a bit muddy though the bass comes out very well. **Q: I have a Gibson SG standard VOS re-issue. It's a solid body. I'm looking for some input. Would these strings work good on it?** A: My favorite strings. You may want to try the JS110 set on your SG. They play really in tune and last and last. I use these strings on hollow and solid body guitars. Good strings sound good and these are the best. **Q: Are the 2 treble (B,E) strings pure nickel ?** A: No, they are steel and these have a gold tint to them so I believe they are brass coated. The other four strings are nickel flat wound **Q: Bought some other ti strings suppose to be flatwound (adg all ok) but the e was not, still roundwounnd, are the ead & g all flat wounds? thanks** A: The EAD & G in the GB112 set are flatwounds. The E & B 1st and 2nd strings are regular plain strings like in any electric set. If your package contained a round-wound 6th string (low E), then contact TI and they'll send you the correct string for free. They're a great company, with a great product that many of us swear by (me included). And just fyi, the GB112's are flatwound, and the GR112's are roundwound.
