I had originally decided on a different and less expensive notebook somewhat similar to this one but, after reading reviews stating the cover of the cheaper product did not have an actual pebbled surface as the notebook's cover, I went with this one which was the more expensive and higher quality product. As soon as you pick this attractive notebook up you can feel its heft and the graininess of its cover and know that this notebook is something that will last our young friend for years to come. Could have done a little better job on the inside where the basketball material ends, and where the clips are.Usefulness: Comes with an entire stack of lined paper on the right side, which is awesome. And the left side has a pocket for sliding papers on. It would be nice if the pocket could fit more than it does though. It has a little slot for a pen as well but is too tight.
