Equipped with a responsive, yet incredibly light Airflow highback and bombproof CNC-machined aluminum alloy baseplate, the Prime 1 Split Binding saves weight for the long uphill skin without sacrificing performance on the ride down. Karakoram's new Prime Interface offers high level of stiffness for a completely solid feel underfoot. Gone are the days of excess seam slop, meaning you can confidently charge drool-worthy lines without worrying about unnerving board chatter on steep, unruly terrain. This ingenious, split-specific binding uses Karakoram's new Solid Ride board attachment, giving you more stance options (-30 to 30) and improved ergonomics. Four wide, pre-loaded contact points direct energy to the edges for unmatched response and edge control. This design eliminates seam slop, allowing you to rip the steepest, gnarliest lines without unnerving board chatter. Another innovation with the Prime Interface is the new Flip-Speed Riser with heel lock. This feature ditches traditional climbing wires for a two-height riser that deploys with the simple flick of your pole basket. Engage the shorter riser for mellow approaches or flip up the tall riser during steeper, more demanding ascents. Additionally, you'll find a heel lock-down feature that's ideal for skating through long flats and side-stepping small hills. This lock-down has a load equivalent to DIN 6 to 8. Specializing in efficiency, the Prime Interface uses the tried-and-true Tour Mode made famous by the original Split 30 interface. A quick release touring bracket and Power-Link activation lever allow for quick and easy transitions from touring to riding without taking your foot out of the binding.
