Milan Matra states in the Afterword that he takes a long time to write Omamori Himari because he is always looking for the "perfect crotch shot reference." That gives you some sense of where this series goes. The main characters are Yuuto, a demon slayer, Himari, a demon cat who has pledged to protect Yuuto, but also has a strong attachment toward him, Rinko, Yuuto's longtime childhood friend who is also attracted to him, and Shizuku, a demon who at first wants to study Yuuto but increasingly has strong feelings toward him. As you can see, the harem aspect of manga is alive and well in this series. This volume begins with Yuuto injured while protecting Himari from another ayakashi, or demon, and Shizuku healing him in a very sexual manner. From there, we are introduced to Kuesu Jinguuji a demon slayer from another family who claims to be Yuuto's fiancée. The rivalry between Himari and Kuesu for Yuuto's affections reaches a peak at the end of the volume as they attack each other. In between, Himari is disturbed by Kuesu kissing Yuuto and want to be kissed, too. The sexual innuendos run fast and furious in this volume and I particularly like Shizuku who seems to have the best lines when trying to seduce Yuuto, but hides her growing affection for him. Another great addition to this series. I was origionally drawn in due to the beautiful artwork and georgous characters, but have been sucked into it due to a good story.
