Fortunately, there was, of course, a how-to explanation on You Tube. Once I saw that, I got it, and put it together in about 40 minutes, altho it would have been a bit faster with another person helping. Anyway, it got done easily enough and looks great. After there were a few books on it, I tried to move it by lifting on the top shelf, and that side of it came up. I just pushed it back down and it seems fine. Assembly was very easy and all screws were tightened without stripping the pilot holes. Once assembled I would say that the shelf exhibited about 2 - 3 degrees of lateral sway. After I added books this was reduced in half. The middle shelf (not adjustable) is not screwed to the carcass as the top and bottom shelfs. During assembly pins are pressed into the carcass, and the shelf, which has oversize holes, is installed on the pins. This eases assembly, but contributes to the sway that is observed. It's not detrimental to the performance of the shelf, but it was an observation. The literature promotes the shelf as being 28" wide x 30" tall x 13" deep. These are the overall dimensions of the shelf. The depth of the two shelfs is 11 1/8". The height of the opening for both shelfs is 12 1/4". The finish is promoted as antique walnut and I would agree with that description. The image has a little more "red" than walnut, but this could be contributed to the monitor.In conclusion, for me, the shelf is well designed, easy to assemble, pleasing in appearance, and fits my needs.
