This light mounts to the band under the handle , so that it is out of the way and points directly at the grill grate. I would buy it again. A couple of improvements:make it greenHave an LED on the opposite side so that you can know whether it is on. It is easy to leave on. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bright, Functional & Versatile *by W***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 10, 2015* Super bright, makes all the difference in the world.For those of you who enjoy the long cooks (brisket, pork butt, etc.) and have to throw the meat on late at night or early in the morning, this light is for you. The bracket fits my large BGE perfectly, and the light itself actually slides in an out of the bracket, so you can use it for other things like finding your lighter, or examining you bag of coals for the every elusive medium sized chunks. The only problem I have with it is in conjunction with the Nest tables. I had to bend the housing quite a bit to get it to clear the tables (while both up and down). I'm sure this wouldn't be a problem if I had the longer handle, but since I have the short handle, and a medium, it sits on the side.
