The piece of marble is beautiful-very little gray color on white and no veining-the bottom has four non skid feet and the person complaining in another review mentioned it needs on in the middle for support but I disagree-the board is thick and low to the countertop so it’s not going to bend with its own weight or working with a roller-I wanted to also mention, when looking for a pastry board like this, make sure it’s solid marble-I purchased one prior to this and it was a marbke veneer over ceramic, like an oversized trivet, and that is far from a solid piece like this-I recommend!

**Q: Can I use this to cute veggies and meat?**
A: I have this board, we keep it on our island all the time, which has a vegetable sink. Yes, we cut veggies on it.  It is very heavy, and very beautiful.  When we are cooking with meat and chicken, we use another area of the kitchen.

**Q: how thick is the marble**
A: I don't think it's an inch thick as the other reply mentioned. I think it's probably between .50-.75 an inch. It's still substantial and it weighs quite a bit.

**Q: I"m confused on the weight of this, people are giving different answers and the weight is the big thing.  some say 23, or 25 and even 11, thats alot**
A: My board is a solid marble - it measures 16 inches by 20 inches and I just weighed it on my scale and it does weigh 22 lbs.  Mine actually shipped free as I am a prime member.  I can tell you that I use it all the time and although it was expensive compared to others what you have to know is that marble does not absorb odors, or bacteria as other porous boards would.  It is great for rolling out dough, making fudge, cookies, etc.  Because it is marble it is best not to cut too deep with a sharp knife on it. I love mine and would not trade it for everything.  Marble lasts a lifetime - you'll never need to buy another board - ever!!!   I have had mine probably about 3 - 4 years and use it on a daily basis.   I also got the marble rolling pin and holder as well.  I hope this helps you.

I’m was disappointed. I purchased a large marble pastry board and it was well packaged by Amazon and Fox Run. This was a gift for my husband’s 69th birthday. It had a crack that went through the entire chunk of marble and due to the slight yellowed discoloration, appeared to have been repaired at some point(?). We we’re able to return it and replace it with another board, and it arrived in time for DH’s birthday. It is beautiful and flawless.
