Applied liberally to the skin only in needed areas works fine without using excess product. If your riding comfortably for 1-2 hours without any anti-chafe, adding appropriate spot treatment makes rides up 5 hours or 100 miles comfortable. This will require some standing and enough power output that your not resting on the saddle the whole ride. I take one on every ride and, while I don't use one every ride, I am glad to have it ready if needed. Same product as in big tube. No concerns about quality.
