I personally added five 120mm fans (2 for top, 2 for side, and 1 for radiator in back), but it also includes two 120mm fans in the front of the case. Also, note that your power supply will take up one fan port on the bottom. So, in the end I used all fan ports (used 8 holds 9) except for one on the bottom. I am using my computer mainly for photoshop and gaming, so I need to keep my case at an optimal temperature at all times. Also, note that it does support four 240mm fans, so if you have the money or need the extra cooling potential you could put two on top and two on the side (instead of 120mm fans). With this setup, whether I'm running Borderlands 2 on max specs for hours on end or handling massive resolutions in photoshop, I have yet to overheat the case. Depending on your application, this might be overkill. For a simple home desktop setup I would recommend two additional 120mm fans (most home setups get away with just two fans totat, however this case is much larger than most cases). Finally, if you just want the bare minimum for a gaming rig you could probably get away with three additional (instead of 5)120mm fans. Hope this helps!P.S. I realized I forgot to mention what fans I'm using.
