I really needed one, asap, that could be outside my chinchillas cage. My fur-son is a HUGE plastic chewer and his prior bottle was starting to leak profusely cuz of the damage he had done. I was a bit worried at first when I saw that the fastening mechanism would be on the inside of the cage. The cage I have for him now is not ideal so there weren’t many options for water bottles, that I could choose from, that would work so this one was a bit of a risk. I have had this water bottle for him for about 2 weeks now and it is still INTACT!! I have only had to fill it with water once so far, so the water lasts quite a bit (considering the bottle is a bit small). And it’s super easy to unhook from the holder to re-fill. It’s advertised as being able to work with normal water bottles too, if the one is too small for your liking, but I can’t attest to that yet since I haven’t purchased water bottle with a long enough neck to have it twist on without leaking. So, so far, the bottle it comes with is perfect for me and IT DOES NOT LEAK!! I also wouldn’t be worried about the water not coming out of the spout either. I had a water bottle that stated doing that and it was horrible finding out my baby wasn’t getting access to his water. I have only had for 2 weeks, but I don’t think that will be an issue either way.
