Would definitely purchase again!
We purchased this digital frame for my parents as a gift, but preloaded it with photos of family, so I was able to use it a bit. It works well. There is no music or sound for this one, but the pictures displayed nicely. I don't think it allowed any photo editing for pictures that had to be rotated and thus were occasionally cropped off at the top or bottom--that has to be done on the computer prior to playing it on the frame. The frame uses a regular SD memory card, so the capacity is basically limitless. It also has some storage space on the frame itself without the memory card, but using a memory card (not included) keeps anything from somehow being lost. It also makes it easier to categorize photos. It comes with a little remote, but it also has buttons on the frame itself, so it can be operated either way. There is also a nice clock and calendar, with a scheduling function if you want to schedule the slide show to operate at certain times. The frame runs off of a cord or batteries (also not included). The larger size did present some grainy photos, but I'm not sure that is the frame's issue--I think that depends on the camera that took the photos, as some of the photos were really nice and clear and others not so good. We even had some scanned photos, but those again were not as clear, but wouldn't have been on any digital frame. It also has 2 different photo frame mats--black or white--to change the appearance of the frame. My parents were very pleased with it and I think it was well worth the money. I would definitely buy this again!

Not perfect, but a good product
I got this photo frame for my father for Christmas and filled it with some pictures before I wrapped it. My parents divorced when I was 7, and somehow my father didn't seem to receive any of the pictures of my me and my twin sister after my folks had split. When I graduated college my mother made me a scrapbook and my father, looking through it, mentioned that he didn't have any of these pictures and "that's where they all went". So I took my Canon scanner and took some pages out of my scrapbook, and scanned some of the photos to put in this frame, which gave me a pretty good indication of how this product works.Pros:It's a nice looking frame. It can hang on the wall, which is a must for my dad and stepmom, who have a two year-old at home. It also has a plastic fold-out leg to sit on a table. The leg actually comes out and extends, which was not glaringly obvious at first. I only figured it out after the frame slid over several times. The picture quality is good. The pixels present on the frame are very minimal, and not present at all when viewing the frame from several feet away.It comes with a remote which is pretty handy if you've ever seen anyone trying to change things by pressing all over the frame. It is versatile as far as input goes: You can put pictures on the frame with a USB cord to the internal memory, or use an array of memory cards, or even a memory stick (although I'm not sure that you would want to).Features: You can change the duration of the slides, the effects from one picture to another (fade, roll, etc), the randomness of the photos, etc. You can edit the photos so that they appear a certain way in the frame only, although this only works for photos saved to the hard drive.Cons:It comes with two mattes for the frame. One is black, the color of the frame, and the other is white. I cannot see any reason you would want to use the white one. I think its a waste of materials and a pointless inclusion.Ease of use: When I first opened the frame, I inserted an 8 gb memory card into the slot and plugged it into my computer. Two devices appeared on my Macbook Pro's desktop: One that said Panimage (okay, obviously the frame), and the other that said "No Name". It took me a few minutes to realize that the panimage icon was for the hard drive in the frame, and the other was the memory card. I dragged and dropped the images, but was unsure of where I was supposed to put them. Also, I dragged and dropped images I had exported from Aperature, a photo editing program. I always shoot photos in RAW + large, and when examining the frame, I realized it had also imported the Raw format as well. All of these images were in the frame as "unsupported format" taking up space. I feel that there should be something that rejects the unsupported formats, so I wouldn't have to erase them all manually afterwards.Another thing that was a bit of a bummer is that you cannot play the slideshow from the internal memory as well as the memory card. Its one or the other.I read another review that stated the remote did not work. Mine did, but barely. Its nice that it came with a remote, but it felt cheap and was tiny. The buttons did not have much of a tactile response and it sometimes took two or three presses of a button, pointed directly at the screen for it to register. The crop aspect ratio is off, as I've seen others mention. If you choose to fit the images to the frame, it chops off the top inch or so for any photos that are shoot in the vertical orientation. It worked great for photos in the 4x3 aspect. Unfortunately, because many heads were chopped off with this setting, I took it off, forcing all photos to be seen with a slight black border around them. This essentially made the photos smaller. Conclusion:Its a good frame for the money. I've seen many other frames go for a lot more. This has some customizable features which you may choose to use or not, but you aren't paying a ridiculous price for them. Once you get past figuring out how to use it and make it look the way you want, it does have a nice, sleek design. To me, that was one of the most important things.

Worked great, until...
Similar to another recent reviewer, I purchased this frame in December 2010. The frame was great - easy to set up, looked great, and had a handy remote. The frame worked very well until early January 2012, when it just went black - totally dead. It lasted 1 year and 2 weeks from the purchase date, and slightly over a year from the date I set it up. Like the previous reviewer, I tried contacting Pandigital Customer Service, but was unable to get through. It's a real shame, because I was really pleased with the frame. Perhaps its unrealistic, but I think these things should last longer than 1 year. Luckily, I purchased the SquareTrade warranty, so I'll be submitting a claim today.

Fantastic product for the price
I started looking into digital photo frames after the price point for 10" frames hit my comfort zone of $75-90. After reading the reviews of this particular Pandigital frame, investigating a few other reviews, plus seeing this one was on sale, I decided to go for it and buy 2 of them. I have to say I am most pleased with my purchase. The colors are bright, the resolution is crisp (even at 800x480, which is ~VGA), and the operation was more or less intuitive. I was also very happy to find that the unit came with a remote control, which makes menu operation a LOT easier. Other nice features include the calendar, automatic sleep function (I set mine to run on an 8-hour cycle, just to save the life of the screen - no point having it run 24/7), as well as a selection of screen transitions although I just use the simple crossfade. The base memory is a bit low at 512MB, but the frame comes with a built-in 6-in-1 card reader, and with the price of SD cards being what they are, it's well worth it to just throw in a 4GB SD with the purchase also and load it up with your favorite pix. If you have the time and patience, resize your images to 800x480 so you can pack even more images on there. All in all, I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and I stare at it all day long as it sits on my desktop and cycles through beautiful photos of my travels, friends and family, and random photos.
