Review: Broke During First Use - I did not buy this from desertcart but from a retail store. The first time I used it, it broke. I was halfway through a movie when the player would no longer display the movie. A red light came on and I could open the machine to retrieve the disc. I tried unplugging and resetting the machine and it will not work or open. Philips online chat help was less than helpful. No recommendations and told me I would have to try another tech division which would cost me. I do not recommend purchasing this machine. I liked it because it was small and would have been the perfect fit for my bedroom. Total waste of money!

### ⭐⭐ but it's pretty lame

I would stay away from this device if you are thinking of buying it to play foreign DVD's and you want to plug it into your TV using an HDMI cable. I am using a modern Samsung TV. (2015 model) The only way I could get the player to work was by using an RCA cable. They're the Yellow/Red/White kind we needed to use back in the 80's and 90's. The player has an HDMI port, and maybe it's user error on my part. BUT... I could not get it to function through HDMI. I was receiving an error saying the "Resolution is not supported" I changed the resolution to 720 from 1080 and it still didn't work...The device supposedly has "auto detect" but in the long run the only way I was able to get it to work was by RCA plugs. Bottom line...it works, but it's pretty lame
