Most importantly the PIR (that little stud you can see just below the solar panel) has a quite narrow 90deg field of view but that is 45deg down and 45 upwards which makes no sense (who needs a PIR pointing upwards?). Mounted above a door it's fine if you're approaching from a distance within that angle but it won't activate when you leave the house for example because you're not in it's field of view. Also anyone approaching from the side will not activate the light.The upper light that stays on all the time at night is pointless except possibly as decoration, it's weak, doesn't throw light any distance and so drains the battery for no good reason. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I'm very impressed. *by M***D on Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 October 2016* I was rather sceptical when I saw these lamps, they are quite small and I didn't think they would be very effective. I couldn't have been more wrong.We have them on our gate posts, one either side. The constant light after dark makes the gates easy to spot from the dark roadway and the motion detectors switch the lights to full power as they are approached lighting the end of the drive very effectively. So far with a mixture of sunny, cloudy and rainy days they have not failed to stay on throughout the hours of darkness.
