Mark you axle and then you can simply rotate until desired tuning. - When removing very tight axles, the axles may be bent if proper care is not taken. The only problem is that you have to be careful not to shove the axle in too far so the pliers can not get hold of the axle head. I shoved an axle in to my usual spacing of hub to body (~1/32") and this did not leave enough axle head to grab with these pliers. The distance from the end of the pliers to the actual groove is a bit too far. If the groove were a little closer to the end, you could grab an axle with less clearance. Ultimately you will need to shove the axle in, but leave it out about 1/16" or more from where you want it, adjust the axle, and then finish it off. Once the axles are seated you will not be able to pull them - not the way I build, anyway. If you run your axles with a "Sloppy" clearance from the body, you may be perfectly happy with this. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Best thing to buy for working on a Pinewood Derby car!!! *by B***N on Reviewed in the United States πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ on August 19, 2016* If you have not built a Pinewood Derby car before and plan on using "special" axles of any type you definitely need this pliers!!! It protects the head of the axle and keeps it from getting bent up. Also helps keep the axle slots or holes from getting worn out when using other methods to insert and remove the axles. I did not buy this until my 5th year of Pinewood Derby racing and wish now I had it the first year. Luckily my youngest son is starting Scouts this year and I can use it for him all 5 yrs. Well worth the price!!!!! Do not hesitate to buy this!!!
