The first thing I did was toss them into the wash and didn't think much to check the thickness. After I pulled them out I noticed that the sheets are pretty thin. Thin as in you can see through the sheet. I will also say that these sheets are extremely soft. I'm no sheet expert but I hope that they will stand up for a few years being so thin. I gave it 4 stars initially because I haven't found any flaws in the sheets unraveling or having holes after the first wash. I'll try and update as I notice changes in the sheets so you can gauge how long they might last after use. They feel softer than any sheets I've ever tried. I have only one suggestion for improvement. They say they have deep pockets capable of fitting mattress thicknesses of 17 inches. That's a stretch, (pun intended). They just barely make it. The length is fine but the width could be wider. I suggest they consider deepening the pockets or just say, "Fits mattress thickness up to 16 inches".However for the money they are a steal.
