Review: Waterproof, compact, long lasting and effective fire-starter. - My review headline sums up most of what I like about this "match." That is to say that it makes a good size flame of approx. 2.5". It has a threaded cap with a rubber O ring to seal in fuel and keep water out. I can get it to light with one or sometimes two strikes of the steel now that I have my technique down. At first it took me a bit to figure out how to make it ignite easily. What works for other may vary, but what I found to work best is to set the flat side of the steel against the strike track, angle it about 75-80 deg. off the track (or 10-15 deg. from the perpendicular), apply moderately firm pressure while dragging the steel at a medium to fast speed. YMMV. Another point is you need give the fuel time to soak into the wick when filling for the 1st time, or anytime the fuel has been depleted I suppose. I gave it 5 minutes and that was enough. I imagine the amount of fuel you can fit in the case/wick should allow for quite a number of uses without having to add more fuel. My review here is based on initial testing as it just came in the mail the same day I write this. The conditions I tested it under were as follows: -- 1) Ambient temperature of 45 deg. F. -- 2) Light breezes -- 3) Fueled with White Gas or sometimes called Camp Fuel, and which is actually aliphatic naphtha. That's also what "lighter fluid" is for things like Zippo lighters. I submerged it in water for a few minutes and noticed no leaking. It worked fine after removing it and shaking it off. Note though, that as with any O-ring seal, the first thing I did was apply a bit of silicone grease to the O-ring. As many people know, this should be considered essential for O-rings. But I mention it here for those who may not be aware. Also, when I get a chance to try it out during the harshness of winter, I'll try to remember to report back on how it goes. I anticipate even brutally cold outdoor temps will have minimal effect given the simple design and basic principles involved, but we shall have to see. After all, if one wants to have one of these around in part for it to serve as a survival tool, then it needs to work in any conditions it may need to be relied upon in. Downsides: There are only a couple of very insignificant negatives for me to report, and one of those is with the shipping and not the product itself. It took a little over a month for me to get this. That's a bit slower than even other stuff I get shipped directly from China. The other downside, is that you need to keep the open end upright when in use to avoid spilling your fuel reserves out. The reason for this is that the "match stick" portion of this is integrated into the one cap. This is a very minor issue I think; just be careful not to spill out the fuel when using. In another way, this design might be better than having a separate "match stick" and cap as it makes it impossible to accidentally forget to include the match component when capping it closed. There are many choices out there for devices of this type. My hope is that my review will help inform other customers so that they can best choose a product that fits their needs. I can say though, that so far this works out for me quite well.
Review: striker - I tried this as soon as I received it, does not light (NO) instructions. Reviewed description shows striker and ignites wick (does not) wick glows that is all. I reviewed again it shows a flame on end of wick. It also shows a tool to work on the wick (not there) I do not like to write bad reports but this is a waste of money.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: is this an all metal construction or is there any plastic in the item?**
A: metal

**Q: Where is it made?**
A: Made in Asia if I remember correctly.

**Q: If i fill it with fluid how long will it last intill i meed to refill?**
A: At least months if left unused otherwise, depends on how much u open & use it. (Replace factory O-ring seals with thicker ones)

**Q: Why did my wick completley burn when i lit it?**
A: If your wick completely burned away quicly after one or just a few uses, there is only 1 thing that can cause that...
Lack of liquid fuel, i.e.- not enough lighter fluid absorbed into the wick when lighted so, it starts to consume the wick as fuel after the lighter fluid fuel ran low in the wick.

There is not enough heat from the sparking without fuel to light the wick to a flame without fuel at all absoebed into the wick, It would just smoulder without fuel if sparked.

So, if it actually burnt with a flame and then your fuel absorbed into the wick ran low, it would consume the organic fiber wick very fast opposed to the wick just being used as a transport for sufficient liquid fuel to burn.

The probelm is either there was not enough fuel in the lighter resivoir to keep the wick sufficiently wetted with fuel when sparked to flame or, the flame was let to consume all the lighter fuel in the wick by letting it burn too long without extinguishing the flame and thus, consuming all the fuel held in the wick before placing it back into its case resivoir to absorb more liquied fuel.

Advice, keep fuel casing resivoir topped up and do not let the wick burn all the liquid fuel out of it before extinguishing the flame and olacing it back into the fuel resivoir to reabsorb more fuel before lighting again.

### ⭐⭐⭐ Great lighter but too small of gaskets.
*by F***N on June 29, 2019*

Item worked great and as described to light but 1 rubber gasket, bullet end of lighter, would not seal. I replaced both gaskets as they appeared too thin for a proper seal and no more leaks. Would have gotten 5 stars if hasket had not allowed leak. It is very easy to light and I have no clue how some people do videos on these where they appear to struggle to light the bullet lighter or make an excuse that it takes quite a few strikes to get the new ferrocerium coating off first. Mine first lighted on 3rd stike and then 1st or 2nd afterwards. May be type brand of strike rod used by this company. Very good quality except for gaskets too thin, could screw the bullet down with litle to no gasket compression. My advice, get the lighter but replace the gaskets with ones that work well.
