Using a little silicone grease on the threads should make them work smoothly and not bind. However, the real problems with these lights compared with the others of similar design is that the switch protrudes from the tail cap, therefore they cannot tail stand, Also the bezel on these lights has been shortened and the lens protrudes from the other end. They also did not bother to drill lanyard holes. The anodizing is also sub par.I have no way of measuring the lumen output but by comparison, it is below 100. To be fair, mine has a nice warm colored beam and it was shipped from China for a total of $3.40 so the fact that it is single cell led flashlight with a build quality above the average give-a-way light, I don't feel ripped off.
